Otter Falls

There is a parking area after you cross the bridge on Rte. 47. From the parking area there is a path that leads you straight to the falls. The cascade is about 25 ft. high, and flows into multiple pools, with the largest at the bottom being about the size of a swimming pool.  We […]

Millstream, Woodstock

UPDATE 05/19: This Swimming hole is on private property and has officially been closed to the public. Unfortunately, the crowds and trash have forced the closure of this gorgeous swimming spot. This is a reminder to please never leave trash, and if possible, help collect trash that you do see, and please always be kind […]

Long Lake Beach

This is a really cute little swimming area on a bridge bisecting Long Lake.  The buoys weren’t set up, so we couldn’t evaluate it fully, but it has pretty views and nice landscaping. http://mylonglake.com/what-2-do/swimming/

Little Stony Point Park, Cornish Estate

This place is awesome.  There are sort of two sections divided by Route 9D-there is a beach on the Hudson where people swim, and on the other side there is a hike through the ruins of an old estate.  This was one of the most interesting locations that we visited, though unfortunately we sort of […]

Little Deep, Woodstock

From NY-212, turn onto W Hurley-Zena Rd for about .3 miles, and you’ll see a parking area on your right.  The trail to Little Deep in just north of the river as you follow it upstream (the path is very obvious). The actual Little Deep is just a few minutes from the parking area. It’s a […]

Inlet Beach, Arrowhead Park

Scenic town park with a dock and sports facilities.  Very nice playground and pirate ship for kids to play on. http://www.adirondackexperience.com/recreation/inlet-public-beach

Indian Spring Falls

UPDATE-Swimming is now illegal here, and the area is patrolled, so please consider this a “See” location. Park in the parking lot for Audubon Center.  Then continue up Indian Brook Rd. by foot, go under the bridge, and you’ll see a trail to your left. Follow the trail for a minute, and after you cross […]

Golden Beach Campground

This is a pretty park, and the beach does in fact appear “golden.”  The swimming area wasn’t set up during our visit, so we couldn’t really evaluate it. http://newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com/camping/golden-beach-campground/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NY&parkId=642

Eighth Lake Beach Campground

This is listed as having a swimming area, but it wasn’t set up during our visit and we couldn’t really evaluate it, or know if we were in the right spot. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/24465.html
