Hague Town Beach Park

Rogers Rock State Park

This is a nice state campground with a lot of camping sites.  They have a sandy beach on Lake George, with a nice view of the mountains.  They seem to have kayak rentals, and there is a boat launch. http://newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com/camping/rogers-rock-campground/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NY&parkId=515 http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/24493.html

Black Point Public Beach

This is a town beach on Lake George, off of Tiroga Beach Road.  The park has a small sand beach and clear water.  Small grass area for picnics, beautiful views.  It was raining during our visit, but it is likely to have turquoise water on a sunny day, if it is like other areas of […]

Port Henry Champ Park

From Main street, take Dock Street and then a  right on Beach Road.  This park was sort of dingy but had a nice walkway to the lake.  This could be a nice beach if cleaned up a little, though we did see something on their website about a clean up effort following damage from Hurricane […]

Bulwagga Park

From Route 22, you’ll see a large sign on right side of road for Bulwagga Park, and you take Bulwagga Drive to the end where the park is.  You’ll go past a weird abandoned building, past a fenced municipal building, and stop at the fee building in front of all the RVs.  They didn’t charge […]

This entry is for one of two beaches within the same campground. This is a really lovely area, with pretty campsites and very clean facilities. The South Beach entrance is to the right after passing the entrance booth, and the North Beach is to the left.  South Beach is larger with a bigger swimming area, […]

North Lake Beach

This entry is for one of two beaches within the same campground. This is a really lovely area, with pretty campsites and very clean facilities.  The South Beach entrance is to the right after passing the entrance booth, and the North Beach is to the left.  South Beach is larger with a bigger swimming area, […]

Bellayre Beach, Pine Hill Lake

There is a faded sign on Route 28 that is easy to miss, but this is a nice beach and well maintained.  The swimming area is small, but has with very pretty turquoise water.  There is a playground, and paddleboats available.  We don’t know if dogs are allowed in the grass areas, but they aren’t […]

Roscoe Rest Area

This is a highway rest area with access to the Willowmec Creek.  This has been listed elsewhere as a place to swim, but we found it sort of unappealing.  To get here, take 17 East from Roscoe and get off at the rest area signed as a “Text Stop” around mile marker 313, and before […]
