Wilmington Notch Campsite

The waterfall is behind the campsite, and it is a very steep but short walk down a hill, that levels out for a couple of yards and then ends in the gorge.   You can actually sort of see the water from the head of the “trail” which is really just a root wash out. There is no underbrush in the forest though, so you can pick your own path down the hill. There is a rock outcropping which is really the only place to view the falls head on. You want to be careful of your footing and balance as it is a long fall down to the water. This is a “See” not swim. The forest here is pretty and sort of looked like Lord of the Rings. I would be very careful if it is raining as the ground could be quite slippery since it is steep and covered in old pine needles.  Even though it was dry while we were here, it was pretty nerve wracking trying to photograph the gorge.
