Wellesley Island State Park

This park is on an island in between the United States and Canada, but belongs to the United States. You have to go over a HUGE bridge to get here, which is kind of fun.  There is another state park on the island, but that one doesn’t have an official swimming beach.

This is one of the nicest state parks we’ve been to.  The swimming area has beautiful turquoise water, and a large sand beach. There is also a small peninsula connected to the parking lot, that people were swimming from.  The peninsula has some fire pits and fishing places, and people were jumping off from the rocks.  The area has lots of little coves to explore, and it is popular with boaters.  The park has exceptionally nice facilities, including a store by the beach.
