Thomas Point Beach Campground

This is a private campground that allows the purchase of day passes for their beach.  It seems to be a very clean and well maintained campground, with lots of quirky features like a clock tower and an old train caboose.  The swimming beach is on an inlet, and at low tide recedes quite a bit (pictures are at low tide), but it is still a beautiful view. This seems to be a very popular place to kayak. The campsites seem spacious, and there are lots of places to picnic.  There is a lifeguard chair, though it wasn’t occupied when we were there.

Currently when you visit their website it redirects you and says they are closed until their bluegrass festival is over (2015), so you might want to call before visiting as it seems like they may close for events.

We are listing this as dog friendly, but they only allow small dogs, and they don’t allow dogs on the beach or for events so it might be a good idea to call ahead before bringing your dog.
