Hinkley Reservoir Day Use Area
This day use area is surprisingly large considering how hard it was to find the actual location online. This probably explains why it has a huge parking lot, but wasn’t crowded on even a Saturday, unlike some of the other public parks. The park is actually on Stormy King Road, not on Route 365 as some sites suggest.
The location is very unusual in that it is an official swimming site on a reservoir, which usually do not allow swimmers. There is a medium swimming area, with beautiful expansive views, and green/tannic water. There are picnic areas and a large pavilion; also what we though might be horseshoes?
There are absolutely no animals permitted, but they allowed one of us to run in and take pictures quickly.
