Talcottville Falls, Sugar River Falls

To find this location keep your eye out for a bridge on Route 12D, and the path to the fall is between the bridge and Domser Road.  There is a short, steep dirt road leading down along the stream, just before the guardrail.  You can park here if your car can handle the incline, and we did see other cars parked here.

This is a gorgeous waterfall, and one of our favorites.  There are natural rock steps surrounding a wide fall, probably around 20ft. tall.  The fall flows into a large green pool with clear water, which is maybe  around 4ft. deep in the middle.  The water might be deeper under the fall, but overall it was fairly shallow, and in most places just a couple of inches deep.  Down stream there are multiple tiny falls flowing into another small fall, but this is only big enough for splashing in. The rocks around the fall are long and smooth stacks, and you can easily walk very close to the fall.  We don’t know if this is public or private land, but there are no signs prohibiting access, and the road leads right down to the fall.
