Spillway Gorge

This is a gorgeous waterfall that can be viewed from the bridge crossing Esopus Creek. The spillway is part of the Ashokan reservoir and is off limits with “No Trespassing” signs posted, so this is a “See” location.

It is still worth a stop to view the fall, and the water is so clear that you can watch fish swimming from the bridge high above. There is a pull off after the bridge at the intersection of Beaverkill and Stone Church Road where you can park to take photos, and this is where we took our GPS reading from. You could also probably park in the triangle between roads before the bridge if you aren’t staying long.
