Smarts Brook
Park in the Smarts Brook Trail lot, where you’ll see multiple trailheads. Follow the one that says, “Smarts Brook Trail.” You will do a somewhat steep 5 min. hike up a dirt trail, then this will lead to a wide grassy road that you take a left on. You follow this easy hike for about 15 min., and at this point you’ll see the swimming hole on your left hand side. Another way to know is that it will be the second wooden sign saying, No Camping or Fires.”
This is a really nice hike through a pretty forest. The swimming hole is about a 6 ft. cascade that flows into a large pool that is maybe 10 feet deep. The water has a tropical green hue, and is very clear. There is a rope swing and large rocks to rest on. The swimming hole has a slow grade down of small rocks, but the other half is a sort of steep descent into the water. We were here on a weekday morning and no one was here, so it was very peaceful. This spot is very gorgeous and the pictures do not do it justice.
