Sand Beach, Branch Lake
On Google if you just enter “Sandy Beach” it will direct you to a road that doesn’t have public access. To get to the park you will want to take the road marked “Boat Launch Drive,” which is off of Happytown Road. Take the gravel road to end and follow signs for the beach. Parking is alongside the road.
At the park you’ll find trails and picnic areas, and a boat launch. They have beautiful clear water, and expansive views. The water is so clear that you can see fish swimming around you. There are smooth rocks that kids were jumping off, and the swimming area is open and unroped. Dogs are allowed and it seems like they may even be allowed on the beach. The land is managed by the state, but there aren’t any lifeguards.
