Roaring Brook Falls

Park in the lot marked Giant Mountain/Roaring Brook, and follow the trails marked for “Roaring Brook” and “Base of the Fall,” which is about a .3 mile hike.  This is a “See” location, and the base of the fall doesn’t have a pool, though I suppose you could “shower” under it.

This is an unusual waterfall, that cuts deep into the rock face, and splits near the base of the mountain, sort of in the form of a lightening bolt.  The waterfall is very pretty, and incredibly hard to photograph.  The upper part of the fall is in a deep ravine, and the whole fall is in a narrow ravine.  The rock has multicolored minerals that appear under the water, and small green moss growing on the ledges.  This would likely be a nice, easy hike for kids.
