Mine Kill Falls

To visit these falls, do not go into the Main Mine Kill State Park area, as it doesn’t seem to connect to the falls area.  Instead,  if coming from the east, you want to take the second Mine Kill State Park entrance, which is marked with a sign that says “Mine Kill Falls Overlook.”  There aren’t facilities at this location, but there are in the main park, which also has a swimming pool.

To visit the viewing area, take the white metal stairway down to see the top of one of the falls and a gorge.  To access the base of the falls, follow the green/turquoise trail (basically the only trail).  This is a wide, easy trail to the base of the falls, though steep for a short distance. This is a stunning waterfall surrounded by high mossy cliff walls, falling into a jade colored pool.  There is a rock beach area, with hand hewn benches.  There are “No Swimming” signs.
