Lake George Million Dollar Beach
This is an exceptional state park, when you enter it almost feels like you’re going to the Caribbean. There is turquoise water by the shore, and a clear delineation of cobalt blue water as the lake becomes deeper. There are concessions, bathrooms and showers, and a large beach with multiple lifeguard stations and swimming areas. There is also a lovely pavilion with arbors and picnic tables. In our opinion, this is one of the top state park beaches.
This park was free to enter, though you have to pay for parking. There is parking across the road in Battlefield State Park. We believe this area may alternately be called Battlefield Beach, but it is known as Million Dollar Beach.
There is no camping on the beach, but there is camping across the road at Lake George Battleground State Campground http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/24453.html
Our GPS reading was off for this beach, but the address is 139 Beach Road, and it is just outside of the downtown area of Lake George. The location is pinned correctly on our map.
