Durand Eastman County Park
This is a gorgeous park with miles of sand beach, turquoise water, and waves. There is a designated beach at the western end, but many people just swim in the open water.
There is a long parking lot running along the main road, and lots of places to park. This is in Durand Eastman Park, though we didn’t see any signs for the beach once we were within the park. The easier way to get here is to just drive along route 97 (Seaway Trail) from downtown Rochester until you see parking lots.
This is one of the best beaches that we visited. We were here on a Tuesday afternoon, and we don’t know how crowded it is on weekends, but it was perfect when we were there. No day use fee along the beach, though there may be in the lifeguard area.
