Crandall Falls

Drive down Crandall Falls Road for about 1.3 miles, and you’ll notice that the road starts getting a little rough.  There is a small parking area for anglers, and from here there is an obvious trail that leads to the river.  At one point the trail splits, but doubles back on itself so it doesn’t matter which path you take.  Walk down about 3 min. until it does a bend in the river and you’ll see the first small fall.  Above the fall is a somewhat shallow swimming area with a small sandy beach; below is a very large pool with varying depth.  The deepest part appears to be by the rock shelf that is parallel with the fall. This large rock would be a great place to jump in the water and to sunbath for an afternoon.  You can continue downstream by walking through river.  There is a trail on the south side, but it is posted.  The next waterfall is a longer cascading fall about 10 ft, with various little spots to dip in, and a deepish pool. Water was tannic but seemed clear of debris.
