Upper and Lower Cascade Lakes

This is a public boat launch and picnic are between the two lakes, and we didn’t observe people swimming, though there are no signs prohibiting it.  Some sources do list this as a place people swim though.

The entrance to the parking lot is marked but it is VERY hard to see coming from the south.  If you go past it, turn around in the Cascade/Pitchoff Parking Lot further up the road, and then head back south where you can see the entrance on your right. Both ponds have clear water but the upper has more of a turquoise hue.  You can see the cascade coming down the mountain here, and it is overall a very pretty little area, though it is mostly used by fisherman. This is a New York State Day use Area.
