Mexico Point State Park
Mexico Point is a unique state park, and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. It is a quirky park, with folksy wooden sculptures, and the ruins of an old manor. There is a dog beach and a separate swimming beach. The beach and swimming area are very small and there was an odor when we were there. We asked the lifeguard if it was from the power plant that you can see in the distance across the water, but she said it was from the algae on the beach. On weekends you can tour a turn of the century cottage that has been “transformed into a medieval manor house.” Like we said, this park is quirky.
There was no day use fee when we visited.
