Russell Brook Falls

There is a rough road going up to a parking area off of Morton Hill Road.  This is remote state land with hiking trails, so ensure someone knows where you are going, because there isn’t a ranger station.

From the parking lot, go to the wide path and take the immediate first right towards the Mudd Pond trail. You’ll cross a little foot bridge and to the left is a small path alongside the stream with trails leading to the falls. Some are steep and you should use caution, and they are somewhat overgrown.  You can also just walk up the stream, which is likely the easier route.

This a very pretty fall, but not much in the way of a swimming area.  There are other ponds in this area, but they are longer hikes.

There is rough camping in this area.
