Grimes Glen

There is a small parking area with picnic tables, and a little bridge that you take over the river to follow the path to the fall.  You can also go through the creek, as you’ll have to eventually any way.

Upstream from the bridge there is a little pool that small children could play in if you don’t want to make the hike to the large fall.  For the main fall, follow the path up to where it ends at the creek, which is maybe a 4 minute hike.  A few minutes after it ends you’ll see the first falls, which is about a 50 ft steep cascade. After this cascade the water becomes crystal clear. Keep following the original stream up as it becomes a gully.  About 5 minutes from the first falls you’ll hit the second falls, which is around 30 ft tall, and carves into the rock creating a large bowl, with a decent size wading area.  The max depth is around 3.5 ft., and the area is very pretty, and surrounded by a giant overhang of rock. To the left of the falls are some ropes tied to trees to get to the top of these falls. It is reported that there is another fall on top, but a little before we got there an experienced hiker died from attempting this, so we avoided it, and would suggest you do the same.
